Iron is a part of hemoglobin in our blood and enzymes. It is used in many cell functions and helps our muscles store and use oxygen. A lack of iron can lead to anemia. Anemia also occurs when your body doesn't produce enough red blood cells or hemoglobin to carry adequate oxygen and nutrients to your tissues. Anemia may affect multiple biological systems and can be a sign of serious illnesses. Loss of blood and iron deficiency are the most common causes of anemia. The symptoms of anemia are fatigability, pallor of the skin and mucous membranes, shortness of breath, palpitations of the heart, dizziness, cognitive problems, cold hands and feet, headache etc.
In the homeopathic and biochemical treatment (Schuessler salts) of anemia, detoxification therapies serve the activation of metabolism, the immune system and strengthening the body's circulation and connective tissue. It cleans, de-acidifies the body, is mineralizing and leads to a balanced life energy. The body will be purified and the dissolved metabolic waste, acids and toxins are excreted through the intestines, urinary tract, lungs and skin.
Anemia and iron deficiency can be caused and reinforced by a mineral deficiency and an acidification of the body. Mineral deficiency and acidification in turn weaken the hormonal system, connective tissue and blood vessels. Also a defective metabolism favors anemia, chronic health problems and is often the result of a disturbance of mineral intake and mineral distribution. Although we may receive enough minerals in our food, in the event of a metabolic disorder, not all of the minerals may reach the cells. The use of homeopathic remedies and Schuessler salts is a good way to compensate this mineral deficiency in a natural way and to treat anemia.
Stress as well as environmental toxins hinder the mineral transport through the cell membranes. This is where the effect of Homeopathy and Schuessler salts works. They activate the excretion of toxins and acids. The basal metabolic rate increases and the self-healing power of the body is activated.
First I like to explain you the therapies for the treatment and prevention of anemia and iron deficiency offered in this guide:
Homeopathy was developed about 200 years ago by Samuel Hahnemann. The three basic principles of Homeopathy are the simile rule, homeopathic drug testing and detection of individual disease. The most important principle is the principle of Similarity (simile rule), which was formulated in 1796 by Hahnemann.
It states that a patient should be treated with the remedy, which can cause in its original state similar symptoms in healthy people like the existing disease. It notes primarily the main complaints of the patient. Together with a few differentiating additional informations (modalities) then the right remedy will be found for the treatment of anemia and iron deficiency. The dosage depends on the condition of the patient. As the patient improves, the distances between the medication will be gradually extended.
What happens if you choose the wrong remedy? Nothing. Just as a key does not turn in the wrong door lock, a wrong homeopathic remedy does not cause any reaction in the body.
The homeopathic remedies are available as D-, C- and LM potencies. For the beginners in Homeopathy, I recommend the use of lower D-potencies. Higher potencies (D200, C and LM potencies) should only be given by an expert, as they go very deep in their effects and are often used only once.
Schuessler salts (also named homeopathic cell salts, tissue salts, Biochemistry) for the treatment and prevention of anemia and iron deficiency
In the 19th Century the german physician Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schuessler (1821 to 1898) developed his health cure with homeopathic mineral salts. In recent years this therapy celebrated a comeback. In his studies Schuessler discovered twelve mineral compounds, comprised each of a base and an acid, which play a crucial role in the function and structure of the body. He developed his own system with which many diseases can be treated in a natural way (also anemia and iron deficiency).
Schuessler focused his search on mineral salts and trace elements, which are found in every cell of the body and called his method of healing "Biochemistry" (chemistry of life). It is based on the assumption that nearly every disease is caused because of the lack of a specific mineral salt. This leads to dysregulations inside the cells. The molecules cannot flow freely.
A mineral salt deficiency arises from the fact that the cells cannot optimally use the minerals. To improve their absorption, mineral salts therefore have to be highly diluted (potentized). Schuessler used the homeopathic potencies D3 (3x), D6 (6x) and D12 (12x) for his therapy. In general, the D6 (dilution 1:1 million) or D12 (1:1 trillion) is taken.
Acupressure for the selftreatment and prevention of anemia and iron deficiency
Acupressure und Acupuncture come from the Far East. Because of their great success they are now becoming very popular with us. During the acupuncture treatment needles are pierced into specific points. During the acupressure treatment these points are pressed, massaged or rapped. Both treatment methods have the advantage that they do not have any side effects when used correctly.
About 400 acupuncture points are used constantly, but much more are known. They lie on the 12 main meridians and the special meridians, which must be imagined as the energy pathways of the body. As long as the energy is distributed evenly throughout the energy channels, the person is healthy. When the energy flow is disrupted, the person is sick. By treating certain points, the energy between the meridians will be balanced and the patient gets enough power to become healthy.
In this homeopathic and naturopathic adviser, I will give you recommendations how to treat anemia and iron deficiency with the help of Homeopathy, herbal tinctures, Schuessler salts and Acupressure. I will present you the most proven homeopathic remedies and Schuessler salts, including the appropriate potency and dosage. Homeopathy works holistically and treats the whole body, spirit and soul. I wish you much success in your treatment, joy of life and especially your health.
Anemia and Iron deficiency - Treatment with Homeopathy
- Iron is a part of hemoglobin in our blood and enzymes.
Symptoms of anemia occur because organs aren't getting enough oxigen and nutrients to function properly. The symptoms of anemia are fatigability, pallor of the skin and mucous membranes, shortness of breath, palpitations of the heart, dizziness, cognitive problems, cold hands and feet, headache etc.
There are different forms of anemia, like iron deficiency anemia, vitamin deficiency anemia, anemia of chronic disease, aplastic anemia, hemolytic anemia, sickle cell anemia, thalassemia (inherited condition) and anemias associated with bone marrow disease.
Your body makes white blood cells to fight infection, platelets to help your blood clot and red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout your body. Red blood cells contain hemoglobin, a red and iron-rich protein that gives blood its red color. Hemoglobin enables red blood cells to carry oxygen from your lungs to all parts of your body and to carry carbon dioxide from other parts of the body to your lungs so that it can be exhaled.
Red blood cells are produced regularly in your bone marrow. This is a red and spongy material found within the cavities of your large bones. To produce hemoglobin and red blood cells, your body needs iron, vitamin B-12, folate and other nutrients from the foods you eat. You may be able to prevent some types of anemia by eating a healthy and varied diet.
Symptoms of anemia:
Symptoms of anemia occur because organs aren't getting enough oxigen and nutrients to function properly.
Low hemoglobin level in blood (it may also be a warning sign of blood loss in your body)
Fatigue and lethargy
Pallor of the skin and mucous membranes
Brittle nails, hair loss, torn and reddened mouth angle
Blue or brown rings around the eyes
Shortness of breath (dyspnea) especially with exercise
Heart problems with rapid or irregular heartbeat
Palpitations of the heart
Dizziness and ringing in the ears
Cold hands and feet
Loss of appetite, chills and susceptibility to infection
Headache and sleeplessness
Causes of anemia:
An acidification of the body
Splenic injury and splenectomy
Your body doesn't produce enough red blood cells and hemoglobin
Loss of blood causes you to lose red blood cells more quickly than they can be replaced
Your body destroys too much red blood cells
Liver and kidney failure, hypothyroidism
Iron deficiency - Without adequate iron, the body cannot produce enough hemoglobin for red blood cells. The result is iron-deficiency anemia.
Vitamin deficiency - Folate and vitamin B12 are needed to produce red blood cells, Vitamin C is necessary for the absorption of iron.
Anemia of chronic disease (cancer, HIV/AIDS, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, lupus, Crohn's disease and other chronic inflammatory diseases)
Aplastic anemia due to infections, drugs and autoimmune diseases.
Bone marrow disease (leukemia, myelodysplasia, multiple myeloma, myeloproliferative disorders, lymphoma
Hemolytic anemia (red blood cells are destroyed faster than bone marrow can replace them)
Sickle cell anemia (an inherited anemia)
Not enough stomach acid and therefore a disorder of absorption from iron in the digestive tract
Stomach bleeding and intestinal bleeding
Strong menstruation (causes the loss of red blood cells)
Exposure to toxic chemicals
In addition to your homeopathic and biochemical treatment of anemia and iron deficiency, you may make a de-acidification health cure of your body with the following recipe:
320 grams of Sodium bicarbonate (Natrium hydrogenkarbonat)
50 grams of Potassium hydrogen carbonate (Kalium hydrogencarbonat)
70 grams of Calcium citrate (Calciumcitrat)
40 grams of Calcium phosphate (Calciumphosphat)
20 grams of Magnesium citrate (Magnesiumcitrat)
Dissolve 1 teaspoon in 250 ml of lukewarm water daily at 10 and 16 clock and drink in small sips.
During the day time, in addition to your homeopathic and biochemical treatment, drink 3 cups of tea for the kidneys. In the evening drink one cup of tea for the liver.
